3 DIY Non Toxic Cleaning Solutions

No one EVER warns you about the abundance of messes you clean up over the years. The pee…the poop. The damn applesauce on the WALLS. You name it, they are EVERYWHERE. There are so many chemicals that are harmful to your little ones and I have researched some of the best concoctions using household product to clean the WORST of messes!

Cheap and non toxic house hold ingredients work SO well to make cleaning solutions!

1. DIY Carpet Deodorizer!!

This is my FAVORITE way to get the house smelling cleaning in a flash! With some baking soda and your favorite essential oil, you will have your carpet smelling amazing in NO time!! All you need is:

Grab a knife and poke holes CAREFULLY in the lid of the mason jar, fill the jar with baking soda to the top and drop 5-8 drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix it around with a spoon and wait for about 10 minutes before using! Simply shake it over your carpet, wait 10 minutes to fully deodorize and vacuum it all up. The best part…this keeps your vacuum cleaner smelling good too…DOUBLE WIN!!

Best smelling carpet cleaner!!! The lavender is LOVE!

2. DIY Carpet/Bed Spot Cleaner!

Not only is this an amazing spot cleaner for the carpet, but welcome to the only solution you will ever need again for those nasty pee stains. I have a 3 year old boy and let me tell you…..the pee stains (God please let is phase pass and let us graduate to POTTY training). All you need is:

  • Empty spray bottle
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp dish soap
  • vinegar
  • hot water
  • sponge or scrub brush

Fill your spray bottle with half hot water and half part vinegar (about 3/4 of the way full). Add the dish soap and then the baking soda last (sometimes the baking soda causes a reaction so I add it last!) Spray the affected areas and wait about 5 minutes and then scrub to rid of the stain! Voila…its gone and this is a cheap solution that won’t harm your babies!

Vinegar, baking soda and soap deodorizes and spot removes so easily!

3. All Purpose Cleaning Solution

  • Spray bottle
  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Dawn Dish Soap

Add all the ingredients, shake to combine, spray the surface desired to clean and wipe it down with a towel. Done and DONE! Hope you enjoyed all these money saving tips! Leave a comment or two if you have any questions!
